A community park for all
Built by you!
Our goal is to transform the under-equipped playground space at Wolfville School into a vibrant community activity park, with modern play equipment, sports facilities, and landscaping that will provide fitness and fun for all Wolfville School students while also serving the broader community.
This is a parent-led initiative, and the majority of funding must come from local organizations, business, and individuals. The government and the Regional Centre for Education (school board) provide no funding for playground construction and renovation.

FALL 2020 UPDATE
After much anticipation and some unfortunate delays, we are extremely pleased to finally have a new large play structure installed at the Wolfville School Activity Park!
This attractive, modern design by Landscape Structures focuses on climbing and strengthening through a variety of play activities that appeal to both younger and older children. Many kids can play on it at the same time, and it has spaces for both individual play and social interaction. We hope the students at Wolfville School and others in the local community will enjoy the new play structure for many years to come!
This new stucture was purchased and built with funds raised from a variety of sources, including $10,000 from the Aviva Community Fund, donations from 100 Women Who Care Annapolis Valley, donations from local businesses and community members, and fundraising efforts by the students and school administration.
For phase 3, we are making plans to replace the current aging play structure with a new multi-activity structure and large spinner, plus double the number of swings! To reach this ultimate goal, we will be continuing our fundraising efforts in the coming months. The more funds we raise, the more we will be able to do! Join the Playground Team!
We are looking for new members to join the Playground Improvement Committee. Our biggest task this year will be fundraising, so we are looking particularly for parents and school staff who can help organize some fundraising events over the course of year. It is not a big commitment, but it will make an enormous difference for the school and for Wolfville in general.
If you are interested in helping, please contact the committee at wolfvilleschoolactivitypark@gmail.com.
OUR VISION

SPORT
In 2017, we replaced the dirt field with a hard-surface futsal soccer court that is usable throughout most of the year for soccer and other sports and games.
The court is the first of its kind in Nova Scotia, and is used by students and community on a near daily basis!
PLAY
The current, aging play structure will be replaced with modern equipment that provides a range of physical development activities for both younger and older children.
Plans include a rope climbing structure, large spinner, double the current number of swings and wheelchair accessible equipment and games with natural wood fibre surfaces under play structures.

NATURE
Natural play and fitness structures will promote fitness and creative play, as well as provide areas for socializing and outdoor class activities.
Together with the landscape design, they will make the space more attractive and draw both community members and visitors.
SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE
More than just a playground —
the Wolfville School Activity Park will be a true community resource for sport, fitness, and fun!
