A community park for all
Built by you!
Our goal is to transform the under-equipped playground space at Wolfville School into a vibrant community activity park, with modern play equipment, sports facilities, and landscaping that will provide fitness and fun for all Wolfville School students while also serving the broader community.
This is a parent-led initiative, and the majority of funding must come from local organizations, business, and individuals. The government and the Regional Centre for Education (school board) provide no funding for playground construction and renovation.
FALL 2018 UPDATE
Our first order of business this season will be to clean up the SW corner, next to the new soccer court, to keep mud and debris from falling onto the court. This clean up was intended to take place during the summer, however we had difficulty finding contractors to complete the work during the busy summer season.
After that, we will be making plans to install one or two new large play structures and additional landscaping next summer! Our eventual goal is to replace the aging play structure with all new equipment, to double the number of swings, and to add fitness equipment as well.
The more funds we raise, the more we will be able to do!

Join the Playground Team!
We are currently looking for a couple of new members to join the Playground Improvement Committee. Our biggest task this year will be fundraising, so we are looking particularly for parents and school staff who can help organize some fundraising events over the course of year. It is not a big commitment, but it will make an enormous difference for the school and for Wolfville in general.
If you are interested in helping, please contact the committee at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In 2017, we replaced the dirt field with a hard-surface futsal soccer court that is usable throughout most of the year for soccer and other sports and games.
The court is the first of its kind in Nova Scotia, and is used by students and community on a near daily basis!
The current, aging play structure will be replaced with modern equipment that provides a range of physical development activities for both younger and older children.
Plans include a rope climbing structure, large spinner, double the current number of swings and wheelchair accessible equipment and games with natural wood fibre surfaces under play structures.
Natural play and fitness structures will promote fitness and creative play, as well as provide areas for socializing and outdoor class activities.
Together with the landscape design, they will make the space more attractive and draw both community members and visitors.
SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE
More than just a playground —
the Wolfville School Activity Park will be a true community resource for sport, fitness, and fun!
